TEST 2

Table

Luke 22:24-27
24 A dispute also arose among them as to which one of them was to be regarded as the greatest. 25 But he said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those in authority over them are called benefactors. 26 But not so with you; rather the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves. 27 For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

There is a place where the body bends
At the knee and at the waist.
Where mind is set what thought intends
But limb refrains from haste.

A spot at home, where one can rest
On inviting upholstered style.
It is offered to a welcomed guest
And host pulls near with a smile.

A favorite one is sought by some
For comfort is its lure.
To settle in, to peace succumb
When steady and secure.

Few other object in the home
Bring memories to our hearts
Of those who’ve gone where spirits roam
Left empty when a soul departs.

A seat of rest with upright posture
Where the common man can dream.
Inspires great thought to quietly nurture
While rulers on thrones just scheme.

For authority is nothing and cannot stand
Lest the leaders know their place.
For the Son sits at the Father’s right hand
All are humbled before His grace.
